Three beautiful beaches in Los Cabos

From all the beaches in Los Cabos, there are three that you can not miss. If you are vacationing for the first time in Baja California Sur, or if you are already living here and want to try out new adventures, we have some good advices for you!

Let´s start with Las Viudas. It is small, quiet and rocky beach near the sea. The rocks block the breaking of the waves, forming small pool like areas to relax in. The ocean of this beach, as same as the other ones has a variety of blue colors, from aqua blue to turquoise you will surely enjoy!

One of Las Viudas charms comes from it's accessible car access, very comfortable for  you to park if are driving.


What can you do in Las Viudas?
  • Grab your camera, you will shot amazing pictures!
  • Get some sun and a tan lotion.
  • Play a football game



Santa Maria is one of the most visited beaches in Los Cabos. It is known to be one of the best places to snorkel. In addition to its beauty, this beach just received the Blue Flag certification. It has bathrooms, ramps and a concrete entryway from the beach to the bathrooms.Yachts and boats anchor near the shore for their passenger to swim. 

Santa Maria has rich marine biosphere. It is a natural aquarium where people can enjoy snorkeling, children can play while their dads are laying down.

Also, this beach has equipment and lifeguards that are constantly looking outfor the sake of everyone. The parking lot was build out of cement and has a wide space.

What can you do in Santa Maria?
  • Build sand castles
  • Snorkel
  • Swim with the amazing biosphere



Last but not least, let´s talk about Chileno Bay. This beach, is one of the most popular of Los Cabos. Chileno is big and charming. Everytime I go, I enjoy swimming near the big rocks, where the water color changes to deep blue. The colors of this beach are also breathtaking, you can see your body through the water and the little fish saying hello.

Chileno also has lifeguards, public bathrooms and some palapas to keep yourself away from the sun. Lots of locals bring their own “ceviche” to eat  while having fun.
What to do in Chileno Bay?
  • Eat seafood
  • Listen to music while playing at the beach
  • Read a book


Do not worry about getting to these three beaches, there are signs at the Touristic Corridor that will show you where to take a turn. Just be watchful for the big signs with the names of each beach. The three are close to one another.

Mr. Bob Bisbee

“Dejó guiar su vida por lo que hace 30 años parecía un sueño”

Gracias al Bisbee's Black and Blue Marlin Tournament, se ha logrado un importante crecimiento y proyección internacional, colocando a Los Cabos como un lugar notable para la práctica de la pesca deportiva. La cantidad de pescadores que vienen de todo el mundo ha aumentado considerablemente y cadenas televisivas apuntan sus cámaras hacia este paraíso durante el mes de octubre cada año.

Thanks to the significant growth and international expansion achieved by Bisbee's Black and Blue Marlin Tournament, Los Cabos is known as a remarkable place for sport fishing. The number of fishermen who come from around the world has markedly increased and television networks train their cameras on this paradise during the month of October every year.

Desde los años 60´s Bob Bisbee visitaba Cabo, amigos cercanos lo invitaban a viajar  en aviones privados, para 1973 al inaugurarse la carretera transpeninsular, inician sus recorridos en carro a lo largo de la península.

Bob Bisbee visited Cabo in the 60’s. Close friends brought him here in private jets. With the opening of the Trans-peninsular Highway in 1973, he started driving his car to Cabo.

Era el año de 1982, cuando platicaba con amigos apasionados del mundo de la pesca, entre ellos el pionero en la industria de la hotelería de Baja California Sur, Don Luis Coppola, es entonces cuando surge la idea de realizar pequeños torneos, y cambia la sede de su empresa de combustible y tienda de pesca, de New Port Beach, California,  a la punta más al sur de nuestro estado.

Bob Bisbee Fishing Tournament Los CabosIn 1982, Bob was chatting with friends who were also passionate about the world of fishing, including a pioneer in the hospitality industry in Baja California Sur, Don Luis Coppola. It was then the idea of small sport fishing tournaments became a reality. Bob sold his fuel company and fishing store and moved from Newport Beach, California, to the southern tip of our state.

Con su barco, su hijo Wayne de capitán y 5 embarcaciones se organiza, en el mes de mayo, el primer torneo de pesca deportiva de la región. Bob promovía los torneos, invitaba a pescadores y embarcaciones a participar. Para diciembre organizan otro torneo, éste ya con la participación de 27 embarcaciones. En mayo de 1983 otro y en diciembre otro, cada vez con más participantes, convirtiéndose en torneos divertidos y con premios que han llegado a alcanzar hasta millones de dólares.

The first fishing tournament in the region was organized in the month of May and included Bob’s boat, with his son Wayne as the captain, and just five other boats. Bob promoted the tournaments and invited fishermen and boats to participate. A tournament the following December already had the participation of 27 boats. By May and December of 1983, there were more and more participants. The tournaments were fun and prizes have now reached as high as a million.

Bob Bisbee Fishing Tournament Los Cabos 2014Cuando se construye la marina de Cabo San Lucas, en 1987, empieza el arribo de una gran cantidad de botes, con ello los torneos fueron alcanzando gran fama en nuestros litorales y el extranjero.

The construction of the Cabo San Lucas marina in 1987 signaled the arrival of a large number of boats and the tournaments became famous along our coasts and abroad.

En 1990 decide retirarse, sin embargo el torneo continuó llevándose a cabo; en 1995 sus hijos Wayne y Patricia se encargan nuevamente del torneo.

Bob Bisbee decided to retire in 1990. However, the tour
nament continued and Bob’s children, Wayne and Patricia, have been in charge since 1995.

La fama que ha seguido al Black & Blue Marlin Bisbee's Tournament después de  30 años, se ha extendido, ahora se organizan dos torneos más, el Bisbee's East Cape Offshore Tournament en Buenavista y Los Cabos Offshore Tournament, conocido como “Little Bisbee's” con un ambiente más social para conocer a otros apasionados pescadores y compartir historias, éste se lleva a cabo unos días antes del tradicional torneo.  

The fame that has followed Bisbee's Black & Blue Marlin Tournament over 30 years has spread. Today, there are two tournaments, Bisbee's East Cape Offshore Tournament in Buenavista and the Los Cabos Offshore Tournament, known as "Little Bisbee's. The smaller tournament features a social environment for meeting other passionate fishermen and sharing stories. It takes place a few days before the traditional tournament.

Los Cabos recientemente se ha unido a la visión de los organizadores del Festival de Cine de TodosSantos, con Los Cabos International Film Festival. El objetivo es en parte, la difusión de Baja California Sur como locación para el Séptimo Arte y en conjunto, estos eventos crean una plataforma para el intercambio cultural y de negocios en la industria cinematográfica.
Todos Santos ha sido anfitrión del festival de cine desde hace 11 años, esto ha contribuido a la proyección del Estado y ha atraído a grandes personalidades del mundo del cine.
Baja California Sur tiene un clima agradable los 365 días del año, lo cual permite una luz natural en locaciones como montañas, desiertos, dunas, playas o en el mar, islas y bahías; sumado a la tranquilidad y seguridad del destino es una zona con alto potencial para la realización de filmaciones.
En esta edición también entrevistamos artistas multidisciplinarios, quienes están comprometidos en convertir al Estado en un importante centro cultural y constantemente generan nuevas propuestas para fomentar el arte 

A Note From The Editor 
Los Cabos has recently combined the vision of the organizers of the Todos Santos Film Festival with the Los Cabos International Film Festival. The goal is to spread the Seventh Art throughout Baja California Sur. Together these events create a platform for the exchange of commerce and culture in the film industry.
Todos Santos has hosted a film festival for the past 11 years. The popular event has attracted many famous personalities in the world of filmmaking and contributed to the advancement of our State.
Baja California Sur has friendly weather 365 days a year. The mild climate and extraordinary light means films can be produced in the mountains, deserts, beaches, bays, islands and even at sea. Combine nature’s incredible beauty with a high degree of security and it’s easy to see why this area has such great potential for making movies.
This edition contains interviews with important multidisciplinary artists who are committed to advancing the State as an important cultural center and generating new proposals to promote art. Enjoy!
