Oscar Ortiz, "To the wild I go to find my humanity" exposición fotográfica en Tendencia Avenue

La fotografía artística es quizá el arte más debatido en el presente. La cámara permite al fotógrafo expresar sus sentimientos como el pincel al pintor, muestra además una realidad sin alteraciones. Oscar Ortiz es un artista muy querido por la comunidad de Los Cabos, reconocido por mostrar el destino al natural: la virginidad de la playa Balandra en La Paz, la biodiversidad del océano en Cabo Pulmo, la majestuosidad de Las Ballenas en Los Cabos, e inclusive la belleza del desierto, todo en fotografías. Tendencia Avenue se complace en tenerlo como invitado en la 10ma exhibición de arte.

Joann Cappon VI artista invitado Tendencia Avenue

Artista plástica originaria de la Ciudad de México. Cursa sus estudios en la Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado La Esmeralda y en la Academia de San Carlos. Reside en Los Cabos por cerca de 20 años, donde es reconocida por su talento en la restauración de arte, en su labor académica y por sus obras originales.

Born and raised in Mexico City. She studied at the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving La Esmeralda and at the Academy of San Carlos. A resident of Los Cabos for about 20 years, she is widely recognized for her talent both in the delicate art of restoration, as in her academic endeavor and her original works of art.

Se distingue por un espíritu generoso que invade su parte creativa en una búsqueda continua, que en esta ocasión, la ha llevado a explorar sus raíces, su esencia e identidad.

Joann possesses a generous spirit, which leads her to a constant search for her true self. This time the search has led her to explore her roots and to acknowledge her true essence, identity and origin.

Esta exposición de Tendencia Avenue es una colección de recuerdos que siempre han estado presentes en la vida de Joann. La técnica con espátula le permite plasmar su intención con mayor libertad para romper con estructuras y trasmitir la fuerza de cada uno de los elementos en las obras. La intención es ofrecer una composición exacta que permita observar cada pieza en su totalidad. Es un acto valiente en el que la artista se muestra tal cual es, en su afán de preservar lo suyo y a los suyos mientras que rinde homenaje a la esencia divina que nos protege y nos une a todos por igual.

This Tendencia Avenue exhibition portrays a collection of memories and elements that have always been present in her life and she expresses them freely in pieces that offer a composition full of meaning. It is a courageous act in which the artist shows herself as she is and shares her desire to preserve herself and those around her, while honoring the divine essence, which protects and unites us all.

Leonardo Díaz in Tendencia Avenue

Artista plástico mexicano nacido en Mazatlán, Sinaloa en 1969. Es creador de obras en óleo, acuarela, acrílico, pastel y carbón. Ha realizado exposiciones colectivas e individuales tanto en México como en el extranjero, donde su su talento y su propuesta artística han sido reconocidos.

Leonardo is a Mexican artist born in Mazatlan, Sinaloa in 1969. He works in oil, watercolors, acrylics, pastels and charcoal. He has performed solo and in group exhibitions in Mexico and abroad where his talent and artistic skills have been recognized.

Sus primeros contactos con la pintura los tiene a temprana edad en La Paz, Baja California Sur, a donde llega a radicar en 1980. Su ingreso al Taller de Pintura de la Casa de la Cultura del Estado bajo la dirección del maestro Armando Manríquez fue un evento que marcaría su vida, poniéndolo frente al mundo del arte consu primera exposición individual a los 16 años de edad.

Leonardo’s first contact with painting came at an early age in La Paz, Baja California Sur, when he arrived in 1980. His admission to the studio of the House of Culture of the State under the direction of Maestro Armando Manriquez was an event that would change his life. At just 16, he had his first solo art exhibition.

El paso por la adolescencia de la mano del dibujo y la pintura lo llevaron a cursar la licenciatura en Diseño Gráfico en la Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, de la cual egresó en 1991 con mención honorífica. Bajo la dirección del maestro Emilio Galindo participó en diferentes cursos en la Casa de la Acuarela de esa misma ciudad de Guadalajara.

Through his adolescent years, Leonardo’s hand drawings and painting led him to pursue a degree in graphic design at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara. He graduated with honors in 1991. Under the direction of Maestro Emilio Galindo, he took various courses at the House of Watercolor in the same city of Guadalajara.

A la par de su obra en caballete, la fascinación por el gran formato le ha permitido tener una importante producción de pintura mural en diferentes hoteles, residencias, restaurantes y espacios públicos.

Along with his work on easels, his fascination with large formats has enabled Leonardo to produce a significant amount of mural paintings in different hotels, residences, restaurants and public spaces.

Gabo en Tendencia Avenue

“I paint as I am. While doing so, I continue to search for my own path."

Born in 1952,  Gabo is a native of the Triana district in the city of Aguascalientes, Mexico.

He began his studies at the School of Fine Arts at the age of eight. Between 1976 and 1996, Gabo lived in Tijuana and Ciudad Juarez where he worked in graphic design, the production of television commercials and on a book of poems entitled "To live is not enough."

His first trip to Europe in 1977 took him to Madrid, Spain, where he studied painting and graphic art. On a later visit to Paris, he established lasting ties with contemporary artists in a supportive artistic environment that would only get stronger over subsequent trips.

Returning to Mexico in 1978, Gabo moved to La Paz, a city he would then call home, except for a two-year expedition to Tijuana.

He worked at the Tijuana Cultural Center with Alvaro Blancarte, teaching screen printing and organizing major auctions. It was during this time that Gabriel painted a mural covering approximately 1,000 square feet of rock in Colonia Libertad.

In La Paz, his many activities include creating his own graphic design and advertising studio; the opening of the Gallery Orsay where he organized more than 200 exhibitions of Mexican and international artists; and, the coordination and promotion of a variety of artistic events.

In 1998, Gabo created and organized the Festival of Arts in Todos Santos. He is also creator of the Art Tianguis "La Bajadita," the first performance of the Festival of Whales in La Paz and the California Biennial. In addtion, Gabriel served as a member of the State Cultural Council for the Arts and a judge of the State Hands competition.

In 2010, he participated in a project called "BBG" for a company in San Diego, California named BBG.

The techniques Gabo employs attract a lot of attention, particularly the texture and perspective of the paintings. The inspiration for his work comes from paintings made by indigenous peoples and the giants found in caves in the Sierra de San Francisco, Baja California Sur.

The technique developed by Gabo is very pleasant. It takes you to an ancient world just by looking at the texture of his works.
