Los Cabos Film Festival vuelve a brillar

Los Cabos Film Festival en su 5ª edición culminó después de cinco días de estrenos de películas, alfombra roja y fotógrafos. Los Cabos Film Festival volvió a deslumbrar con personajes como Oliver Stone y Mónica Belluci de invitados.

En la ceremonia de clausura se entregaron diversos premios, tanto a películas independientes, como a filmes ganadores y por supuesto, el esperado homenaje a Oliver Stone por su película, Snowden.


En la sección de Competencia Los Cabos, el ganador fue American Honey de Andrea Arnold a quien se le otorgó un Premio Cinemex de $200,000 MXN. Por otra parte, en la sección de México Primero nos encontramos con la película ganadora X500 de Juan Andrés Arango quien, obtuvo el Premio Cinemex con una suma de $200,000 MXN. Tamara y la Catrina de Lucía Carreras también fue galardonada con el Premio TrailerArt Kingdom otorgado por Art Kingdom Showbiz Agency y con una suma de $12,000 USD para realizar un tráiler cinematográfico.

Otro de los premios que tuvo Los Cabos Film Fest fue el premio del Público Cinemex a Mejor Película Mexicana con un valor de $200,000 MXN, esta vez, Bellas de noche de María José Cuevas, se llevó el estrellato por haber ganado. 

El ganador del premio a la academia, Oliver Stone, llegó a Los Cabos con su más reciente película, Snowden, que aborda una de las historias más fascinantes del siglo XXI con la polémica narración del ex técnico Edward Snowden, un consultor tecnológico estadounidense que reveló al mundo el espionaje y los secretos de la Agencia Nacional de Seguridad de Estados Unidos (CIA). La cinta es protagonizada por Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Shailene Woodley y Zachary Quinto entre otros. El reconocido cineasta, en la tercera noche de actividades recibió La Ballena de Los Cabos en homenaje a su trayectoria.

Durante ese día, CINEMEX proyectó diferentes estrenos mundiales como: Carroña, de Sebastián Hiriart quien llegó acompañado de la actriz, Paulina Dávila. También, estuvo Ricardo Silva y Omar Guzmán junto con el protagonista de William, el nuevo maestro del judo, Edward Coward para presentar la cinta como estreno mundial.

La región salvaje, dirigida por Amat Escalante quien estuvo acompañada de sus protagonistas Simone Bucio, Ruth Ramos, Jesús Meza y Edén Villavicencio; y Operation Avalanche presentada por su director Matt Johnson.


En el recién inaugurado centro gastronómico, El Merkado, se realizó la cena del Gabriel Figueroa Film Fund. Los platillos fueron exquisitos y las creaciones de 6 tiempos fueron inspiradas por los seis proyectos del Work-in-Progress. Todo bajo la dirección de los chefs: Armando Montaño de El Merkado; Apostolis Blougouras de Gyaros, Paolo della Corte de Pan di Bacco, Alfonso Cadena de restaurantes Ancla, Jesús Guadalupe Castro Valle de The Office Cantina y Rodrigo Cabeza de Vaca de Cabo Roast.

Sin duda alguna, El Festival de Cine de Los Cabos es mágico y nos deleita con nuevas propuestas fílmicas. Un festival que ha evolucionado junto con espléndidos premios y estrenos mundiales. Los Cabos Film Fest llegó para documentar a grandes nombres del cine y vestir al territorio sudcaliforniano con la presencia de actores, productores, directores y fotógrafos que hacen que el festival se llene de grandeza. Los Cabos is movie like.

Los Cabos Film Festival is back!

There is a time in which Los Cabos is filled with red carpets and spotlights; photographers flashes, gowns and celebrities who come to the territory of Baja California Sur to astonish us with their presence.
It is a unique moment because you have the opportunity to enjoy the premieres of amazing directors such as Woody Allen and Jean-Marc Vallée.

This year, the Los Cabos 5th Festival begins on November 09 through November 13. They are days when you can attend different sections of the festival: from American Specials that will project the film Café Society with director Woody Allen starring Kristen Stewart, Steve Carell, Blake Lively and Jesse Eisenberg to the premiere of the film in Latin American Pastoral, where the actor, Ewan McGregor, made his directorial debut.

If you're a movie fan or would like to know the actors that come to promote their films, this is the opportunity you were waiting for.
Los Cabos Film Festival brings together independent films, famous actors, extraordinary directors, short films, independent films and a detailed selection of best proposals from the big screen to captivate both locals and tourists in the city that is home to crystal clear beaches and whales.


In November the party arrives to Los Cabos and invites you to become part of it. You can choose the films that belong to the gala or the ones that are projected in CINEMEX or watch the artists parading down the red carpet that is located in the Cultural Pavilion of the Republic. In this same place every night, a gala ceremony is performed to present films, tributes and recognitions.

Come to see the new proposals from Mexico, United States and Canada and dazzle with Mexican talent and the Americans which are experts in film making. Those activities are some of the many you things you can do if you come to Los Cabos Film Festival.




Some of the films that will be screened are: Little Men from the director Ira Sachs, Hunt for the Wilderpeople with the director Taika Waititi, The Red Turtle the Oscar-winning director Michael Dudok, Death in Sarajevo from the director Danis Tanovic, Aquarius from the director Kieber Mendonça Filho, Lion from director Garth Davis and Under the Shadows of Babak Anvari.
